Post Maximise game resources

Don't know how many people here play MS flight sims etc but there is a new version of autostart out there that help free up the maximum resources for games when they load.
http://saltydogfly2.avsim.net/fsautostart/
Quote:
FSAutoStart gives the user the ability to automatically shutdown services and programs to provide as much resources to running today's most demanding games and applications. It also provides the ability to launch selected programs after the selected application is launched. Lastly, it can automatically restart those programs and services previously shutdown, thus bringing the computer back to its original state. It also adds performance enhancing options like Defragment Memory
May prove useful to some of the gamers that want to maximise their gaming experience. It's only freeware so may be a bit buggy but you never know

Yes it will work for any game, but I wouldn't bother with it, FRAPS still reports the same FPS for FS2004, you're just as well disabling start up programs and services you don't need manually.

It could be a port problem, the game tries to communicate through a blocked port and hangs waiting for a response it will never see. I saw this on TRON, needed to disable the zonealarm firewall to make that run.
