Everquest 2
As of now I can talk about the game I've been testing, so here's some pic

A message from John Smedley:
As of now, the NDA for the EverQuest II Beta is officially lifted. We encourage our beta testers to share the experiences they’ve had in beta with the rest of the EverQuest II community. Many more people who enrolled in the EverQuest II beta program can expect beta keys in their inboxes in the very near future. In addition, in the past few weeks we’ve let the Legends and Lords of EverQuest players in, and we would like to thank them for their support. We now have four Beta servers up and running including one French and one German server and we’ve let in over 30,000 players since July. In the near future that number will grow far past that. Keep an eye on your inbox!

I'll answer questions
These pics are from my system. Radeon 9600 which is capable of the higher textures (as long as u have 1gb of RAM), but the shadows, lighting and cloth movement simulation have been disabled (to name some features).

Re: Everquest 2
Not overly keen on the textures, nor paying per month for a game.

Up the resolution and graphics details to the max and take some screenshots, doesn't matter if it's playable, that'll at least give us a chance to see what it looks like on better hardware.

Look at the site - there are plenty of pic and a movie demoing some of the more spectacular battle scenes. The game also makes use of PS 3.0 which my card doesn't support.
And as you may or may not be away MMORPG's are particulary demanding in populated areas hence why the graphics won't match the state of the art on today's systems.

Re: Everquest 2
The screenshots on that fan site are far from impressive, the official EQ2 site takes an age to load as does the movie. How much a month does it cost? $10 - $15? And you have to actually BUY the game on top of that? pfft.

As a beta tester, I am not charged - if I were I would be demanding my money back as the servers are not stable atm.
I'm sorry you don't like the graphics but MMORPG are not about graphics as they are particularly demanding on the system. Also be aware that the fansite pics may not be on an optimal system, and it IS still beta and all the features may not yet be active - I know some people were saying that AA is disabled.
As for the cost all MMORPG have large server costs and feature online Game masters to police and address issues should they arise. The games also get continual development and patching. Everquest 1 (about 5 years old now) still is getting features added and I think u would die laughing to look upon those graphics.

Re: Everquest 2
I will continue posting here even if no-one is interested, since I feel obliged to publish my experiences as a tester. It may also attract new members who aren't graphics fascists
I have uploaded all my shots here:
http://downquark1.freeprohost.com/Everquest2/
Some movies here (still uploading at time of post):
http://downquark1.freeprohost.com/Everquest2/Movies/
(This are little things recorded by fraps - if someone could recommend some better recording software i am open to advice)
And I'm also writting a review
