A Tx line is a trunk line. A T1 has 24 regular 64-kbit lines bundled together. That is a 24 regular phone lines.

64k * 24 = 1.544 Mbps

I doubt you guys have Tx lines though. Most likely you have a Ex line. A E1 is 32 phone lines, which is about 2.048 Mbps.

EDIT: No, a T3 is 28 times faster than a T1. About 44 Mbps. A T3 can carry 24*28=672 phone calls at once.
