Re: Which is your fave kind of TV?
I'm not bothered about the TV, it's just a TV to me and I don't watch it that much. But I've got a 19" Xerox TFT for my PC.

mine is a 19" 16:9 Hanns.G LCD monitor, which I use to watch TV, VHS, DVD, DivX, etc, I guess that makes mine a vote for an LCD screen, but a pc monitor is not the same, as a TV, as you watch it much closer??

I don't like widescreen TV's or LCD's but yeah, my monitor is quite a bit closer than the TV lol. I prefer a TFT for my PC because I find the text a lot clearer which helps with my programming.

Text is much clearer, I agree
In the context of the thread, I am finding that DVD via a DVI connector, with a PC widescreen LCD monitor, is rather good, while TV is as good as the signal can be

TV...................... ahhhh, the box thingy in the corner, rarely watch it, very rarely, but if I do, I think its a 28" wide screen thing seriously, over rated and over priced IMHO

Re: Which is your fave kind of TV?
when i've done shopping at m&s, I sit outside the sony shop and stare at the tv's. I really do not see what is so great about them great big expensive television screens / sets? the only thing lcd is useful for is that you can take pictures of or film the screen and the picture comes out ok!

Re: Which is your fave kind of TV?
Depends on how well it functions. Generally, I find low end LCDs to be a little disappointing (low viewing angle, bad colour reproduction, even seen smearing), and they don't realy justify the price.
For instance, my local department store has 15 inch LCDs that are over £300 and still suffer from that. Ironically, they sell 15 and 17inch CRTs for around £100 that totaly outclass them in terms of picture, but people still buy them because they think LCD is the future. These LCDs aren't even HD Ready, nor, at 640x480, do they operate at full broadcast resolution.
I do have a Sony Wega 28inch widescreen telly, and, TBH, won't be changing that till it dies.
I'll probably go for a good LCD or plasma then, but i'm not really too fussed with a large screen.
As for the best picture quality I have seen? Well, it would have to be the £2,000 Sony Wega 32inch HD Ready CRT TV I saw in London about a month and half ago.

Re: Which is your fave kind of TV?
This is a question dependant of the size of the telly you want and the size of the room.
upto 28 Inch CRT, upto 32" LCD, greater than 32" Plasma
