Splashpower
Wireless power for portable devices

To use you can simply place any Splash enabled device on the SplashPad and it will charge as if connected to a normal charger. For a device to be Splash compatible it needs fitting with a SplashModule™ this could either be done at the manufacturing stage or as a discreet add-on.

Nice......

Re: Splashpower
hmm, wonder what the electomagnetic fields are like near one of those. More and more we are subjecting ourselves to weird and wonderful EMFs without really understanding the long term effects.
Still it's a great idea. If something can reduce the number of disparate sized chargers, merging them into one or two standards that really would be something.

That did occur to me, especially when the website makes mention of larger charging surfaces like tables eventually being used

Re: Splashpower
These induction chargers are really clever, although as before I would be a little concerned about the EMF they omit.

Re: Splashpower
Don't some electric toothbrushes use something similar?

Re: Splashpower
Yep, I have one but it still has to sit in a 'slot' to charge.....
I believe that some *ahem* 'marital aids' charge the same way....

Re: Splashpower
I have a Sonicare (pre-philips) toothbrush that does this. Had it for years.
