That loud crashing noise would be the sound of Sky and cable-TV executives falling off their chairs.

Re: TV Makers Propose Internet TV Standard
Pah! From the title I had thought the tv moguls had, after a course of mind bending drugs, decided to do something about the crap tv programmes on offer. No such luck!
Frankly before I pay out anymore of my hard earned cash on so called up to the minute hardware and gadgetry I want to see better programmes on offer that actually make me want to spend my money. Can't see the point for most of the cheap looking but actuallyy expensive dross on offer.

Re: TV Makers Propose Internet TV Standard
You obviously need to look higher in the channel listings towards the excellent programming that discovery and national Geographic have on offer.

Re: TV Makers Propose Internet TV Standard
This seems hardly grownd breaking in my eyes, there have been interent ready tv's before, linux is a comon os in some dsat boxes etc, With modern tvs supporting pc's nativly through dvi ports etc is there really a market for this.

Agreed BUT they are nuggets among the dross.Do you know how many of those shopping channels there are?I've lost count myself. Then the reality(or what passes for male fantasy come true among tv moguls)shows I've lost count of those. The buying a house or converting a house or decorating a house programmes have multiplied across all the channels as well as the endless cookery programmes.Thankfully the gardening programmes have disappeared but not the "I've got a lovely unchipped bowl here how much can I get for it" passing for antique shows which are just as abundant.
Then of course there are those tiresome BBC outside broadcasts to some institution like a hospital where I get far more info on some uninteresting member of the public's ailments or too much of a look down some poor doped animals orifices as in the Longleat show they are showing during the morning.Yuk!
Anyway this is off topic but as I said before why in hell I'd want to pay money for a upgraded TV just to view the same old crap beats me.
