How do I stop and song in Itunes being transferred to an Ipod ???

Problem is I have classical songs which I do not want copied across to my Ipod but want to keep them in itunes. Other than that I would like other updates in itunes to transfer across. Does that make sense ???

i would set the ipod to manual update
and just drag the playlist and songs u want
from itunes on to the ipod
