IRDA remote for PC

Does anybody know of a device for the PC that will change the channels on the NTL box. I am thinking of making my own PVR using showshifter. The Pace boxes tend to use IRDA, and i can only seem to find normal IR remotes for the PC. Any ideas?

I know, i'm hunting for a cheaper alternative, but it seems to be the only one available

Have you come across any that can change sky digi boxes?
