Question Changing my phones setup to T-Mobile?

Hello guys!

I currently have a Sony Ericsson K700i phone that I got originally with O2, it is pre-configured as an O2 phone with an O2 icon on the phone in the main menu area so it connects to the O2 online network to access ringtones, games etc.

However, I have quit using O2 (didnt like them at all!) and have reverted to T-Mobile but I want to keep my K700i, I have taken the sim card from my old phone with T-Mobile and have put it in the K700i and although it works, is there a way I can active the T-Mobile mode on the phone so that the menu icon will be t-mobile and not O2, and so that it connects to T-Mobile's zone network?

Is it a case of getting T-Mobile to unlock the phone in some way?

I am a bit of a newbie with mobile phones so please forgive me.

Hope someone can help and that someone understands what I just typed, lol !

Thanks

Simon

Re: Changing my phones setup to T-Mobile?

Sounds basically like what i did when i moved from Virgin Mobile to O2. I don't know, or have had any experience with that phone, however, you can go into a T-Mobile shop and ask for help setting it up to use their network, they're usually happy to help and most of the time i've seen people getting ot done for them free of charge. It's only the changing af a few settings, these are more than likley just the GPRS settings in the phone and of course and WAP or messaging settings (for MMS)

The settings can be found by a quick google search, such as the listings here (which i have used before for the O2 settings) http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html

I don't know however how to get to the settings in the first place however the T-Mobile staff should.
A google search on that may help too

Re: Changing my phones setup to T-Mobile?

No problem, i forgot that most providers offered that service... Virgin does, O2 does, and obviously the rest. Woops.
