NEW 12 month contract on 3??

Hello, I was wondering:

I got an upgrade from 3 two months ago, a nokia 6280. I now wish to cancel. Am i in a NEW 12 month contract?

I'll explain the full story.

The phone worked like a dream for the first day or two but then I noticed that every time I changed profile it would reset and I would lose all my settings. A known issue with this phone. I tried "restore to default settings." It put an unknown password on my memory card.. I have emailed 3 and they said to phone them and they would REPAIR it. I wonder if I could get them to change the handset? Could anyone suggest a good one on 3?

That is why I was considering LEAVING. Please help!!

How can they prove that it's "12" and not "18" or "6"?

3 will only replace the handset once it has been repaired at least twice, and even then will only replace like for like, book it in for repair because it sounds like it just needs a software reflash to be honest.

Your new contract could even be for an 18 month term depending on how much half price line rental you got at the time:

3 months half price is usually a 12 month term
6/9 months half price is normally an 18 month term

Ok Russ I see your point. A software flash I hear you say. What do I do about the memory card though.

Edit: No you won't get a temporary handset because the repairs process is normally 3 working days, quick enough for most folk to be fair.

I'm afraid that is just not good enough for me . A phone addict if you like . That means that I lose line rental time because they have given me a faulty phone. Also when I try to format it it still asks for a password.
