Freeview pvr and NTL

I'm thinking of buying a dual tuner pvr. Don't know which one yet.

Could someone tell me if you can record the ntl digital channels onto a freeview pvr?, btw I've got an aerial to connect to the pvr

Re: Freeview pvr and NTL

Assuming the PVR can record from it's scart sockets and control the NTL STB, you can. AFAIK, not all freeview PVRs can. You can do without the STB control, but if you wanted to do timer recording, you would have to set both the PVR and STB.

You won't be able to record one NTL channel while watching (or recording) another NTL channel though.

If you can find a Freeview PVR that will record an analogue video input signal then you can record a NTL digital channel in the same way that you could also record a NTL analogue channel or any other video source for that matter.

You cannot record the NTL digital stream, however, if that is what you meant. You would require a NTL PVR to do that.
