TV AV2 Black and White !

Hi all

Strange thing !

I plug my DVD-R into the AV2 socket on the back of the TV. If I try and watch it by pressing AV (green button on the remote control) it comes on black on white. Tried all the cables, swapping to AV1 and things are ok. I then found out if I press the green button again it colour

So the green button seems to toggle between black and white. I wonder is this normal or is there a fault with the AV2 socket on the back ???

Any ideas

Thanks

Mike

Re: TV AV2 Black and White !

Many TVs only support composite and S-video on AV2, not RGB.

Can't swear to this but i was told that "hot-plugging" scart leads while equipment is on can cause a huge build up of static capable of blowing any chips that it comes into contact with?

Re: TV AV2 Black and White !

Then try the DVD-R in the 'VCR' scart socket of the STB instead.

Just like this but with your DVD-R instead of the VCR:

Re: TV AV2 Black and White !

On my TV AV2 is colour AV2.5 is BW, same for AV3 & AV3.5, for some reason comes up in 2.5 but easy to set back to 2. Is yours the same?
