hello people

i cyrrently have the ntl base pack with samsung box.i really love record my favourite films ( for personal view of course) .moreover, i am interesting of buying a pvr so i can record anything i want.also,it would be a good idea if in the future i can plug in a satellite antenna and watch sattelite channels as well
many told me about himax and dreambox,which are satelite recievers.but can they record ntl channels?

No, these recievers will not record NTL channels. Quite apart from them fact that NTL and Sky use different transmission standards (Sky uses DVB-S and NTL use DVB-C), the only equipment you are allowed to connect to your NTL cable is the equipment NTL supply.

You can buy PVRs from various companies (liteon, JVC, Sony etc) that plug into the Scart socket on the Cable Set Top Box. The only downside of these is you cannot watch one cable channel while recording another.

NTL apparently do have their own PVR coming (similar to Sky +), but we don't currently have any release dates.
