Question Telewest remote for multiple rooms with one box

I am trying to get a simple and easy way to use my telewest remote in the bedroom. Have tried the TV-link that works for sky but not for Telewest. I have also tried a philips wireless TV link VL1200. This also does not let me change channels from the bedroom. While the Telewest box is in the livingroom downstairs.

Does anyone have a simple solution, apart from subscribing for a second telewest box.
Thanks,

Digitally challenged

Re: Telewest remote for multiple rooms with one box

I have hooked up the transmitter (Argos tonal connect) to the Telewest box (Scart VCR connector and even the TV scart connector). I have connected the receiver to my AV1 scart outlet on my TV in the bedroom and placed the IR eye infront of the Telewest box. The remote still does not change the channels on my TV in my bedroom. Any technical advice you can give me?

Re: Telewest remote for multiple rooms with one box

I had the same problem with my NTL remote. I had to purchase the Digisender Gold from Argos

A lot dearer but it according to their website

World First!
It is also the worlds first video sender to work with the complex IrDA remote control signals used by all digital set top boxes offered by NTL® and Telewest® cable services in the UK.

Re: Telewest remote for multiple rooms with one box

If you have a Pace Digibox on NTL you need an IRDA compatible sender but the Samsung STB uses Standard Infra Red Codes.

Thumbs up Re: Telewest remote for multiple rooms with one box

There is a good site with information on which type of IR system works with ntl STBs, but you do have to visit a few pages and read the text carefully to fully understand it.

http://www.cyberselect.co.uk/range/457

The supplied link is one that has hyperlinks to just about every other page you need to erad to make sure you get the right product, but i have dealt with this company and found them to be very knowledgable if you call them up and ask to speak to a technical advisor so that you get the right thing for you.

Hope this helps.
