Nope the SCART cable goes directly into the TV.

Its weird, the Sky using the same cable and same port works perfectly. The DVD plugged into a CRT TV using the same cable works perfectly. Its just when the DVD is plugged into the LCD TV that it goes green. Hopefully there is a setting on the DVD player to sort this out.

Right, got home and found the menu on the DVD player and there was an option called "TV Output" in here there were two choices, Composite and S-Video. It was set to Composite. I changed this to S-Video and lo and behold the picture was fine with no green tint.

The TV is a Sharp Aquos LC-32P50E and the DVD player is LG DVD-3350E

Yep sure is. My dad brough an LCD TV a few months ago so I may take the DVD down to his and see what is displays on his.
