Broken iPod
Kind of a good thing, yet kinda a bad thing...
Anyway. I stuck this little sticker on the back of my iPod as I was going round my mates house and didn't want my iPod to get mixed up with his (4Gen). Thats when the problem started.
When I got home, I peeled the sticker off, and the stupid thing left all that sticky cr*p all over the back. I, personally, had no idea what to do to get it off. So I asked my Nemmy and luckily, he did. He went into my mum's room and took a nail polish remover to the back of the iPod, all over (Hurrah! It came off!). He then continued to rub the FRONT of the iPod.
First off all, define Nail Polish - a substance that removes nail polish (a form of plastic coating) from fingernails.
Now define the iPod's front panel - almost completely made of plastic.
The nail polish remover clouded up the screen and made my touch-wheel-thing not fully work anymore.
Moral of this story: Don't let your dad near any electrical equipment!
The good thing: I'm getting a 30gb video iPod (Paid for by my father, of course) - Should arrive here on 6th december.

Re: Broken iPod
when I used to build and refurb pc's for a living, the BEST thing for getting off old stickers (whole or just the sticky stuff left behind) was Mr. Muscle. A small spray onto the sticker or onto a cloth which was then wiped over the offending area, leave for about 5 to ten minutes and the whole lot comes off with a wipe!!! amazing stuff!!!

Re: Broken iPod
I have a very dirty 1 gen 5MB iPod ... if it wasn't likely to be a collector's item in the near future, I'd send it in for Nem's cleaning service, I'd quite like a new one

Yes, but it is the ultimate in unbeatable cool. It means I owned an iPod before just about anyone else and am therefore a trend-setter, rather than a lemming.

Re: Broken iPod
White Spirit is good for taking sticky things off.
Obviosuly dont use it on things that will melt though.

Re: Broken iPod
It's the acetone that make the plastic 'melt'. Acetone free polish remover would've been ok.
