You can't get proper high definition DVD players yet. - HD-DVD & BluRay aren't out yet.
You can get some normal DVD players with HDMI output & the ability to "upscale" normal DVDs to hi-def.
They probably would look better, not sure if it's worth it though

Component, used for normal definition, is the same quality as RGB I think. But, unlike RGB, component can also be used for high definition. Although, a digitial HD output (HDMI) would be better than component.
RGB is not S-Video, & goes via SCART. RGB is better than composite (which can use phono leads or a SCART lead).
