BBC on the wrong time?

Is there any reason why the teletext on BBC 1 is still showing summer time? This causes my video to set itself to the BST

That's odd, because I used that feature to reset my video's clock last night just after the clocks went back and it worked fine.

Admittedly I did switch off the feature immediately after (because I set all my clocks one minute fast so if I leave it on it tries to reset them again!) but it does seem strange that it worked for me.

Same problem on my VCR, I guess the guy setting the BBCs text clock didn't listen to the announcements!

Re: BBC on the wrong time?

CF is fine, you obviously still have DST turned on in your profile.

Re: BBC on the wrong time?

My TV (which sets it's clock from Ceefax) was fine..

I think the problem is that most items that set the clock automatically do so once a day. The problem is probably that if the device checks the time before 2AM (or whenever BST ends), then it will be wrong.

But your profile isn't - your message was posted at 15:57. As I type this, my PC shows the time to be 15:09.

On the other hand, I've just posted at 16:09, according to the forum. Oh dear.

EDIT: no, I haven't; I checked my CP and it gave the correct time - and this message now shows it, too. Weird. What happened there?

Re: BBC on the wrong time?

I've still got that problem here with my VCR and Teletext.

Just looket at the teletext and it says 17:48 when it's really 16:48.

I tried to manually set my VCR to the correct time, but it changed itself back again, bugger!

As for the forum time, it was showing as GMT+1 till I went into my profile options, which was already set to GMT and auto set DST, so I didn't change it, clicked save, and now the time is correct...

And your post has 17:47 for the time when my computer clock says 16:50

Re: BBC on the wrong time?

Anqua, go to your User Control panel, Click Options and make sure that the option for Daylight Savings Time (under Time Zone) is set to Auto. If the posts you are looking at are displaying the wrong time, then it is likely that DST is set to On.

Re: BBC on the wrong time?

Well all times look okay now, my VCR picked up the correct time sometime between when I went out at 6PM & came home at 10PM.

Strange thing with this forum, as I said above, was that my settings were on DST Auto, but nothing changed till I went in and clicked Save

If you consciously set all your clocks one minute fast, does that not cancel out the presumed benefit of doing so (not being late), because you can tell yourself you have one minute more than it appears?
