I find vlc is very good for playing the videos

It is also audio, Apples AAC codec is MP4 based.

Do you mean MP4 Player (on PC) or like a Apple I-Pod?

I have a Archos AV380 (80 GB Potable Player with built in screen)

http://www.archos.com/products/av_500/ was a TSV on QVC over the Weekend. Looks GREAT...

I have this Baby http://www.suzip.co.uk/archos its not as good as the NEWER ones, but serves my functions...

http://www.directron.com/pmc001.html is another brand (like Archos) but its Creative ZEN.
