Telescope

Hi, anyone know if I'm likely to get a better telescope for a total telescope newbie. Price Approx £150 ish than the Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ-MD motorised.

Also would I be able to take pictures through this with a Nikon D5000 ?

Thanks for any useful info

Re: Telescope

It's great starter scope for that price. How heavy is the Nikon? You will need a mount adapter to mount the camera body to the telescope.

Re: Telescope

Hi, That's .2lbs lighter than the body of my 60D and that puts a strain on the gearing of my Skywatcher. Don't forget you'll add a bit more weight with the adapter. It possible but be careful.

Re: 80mm refractor Telescope V Hubble

Rather than start a new thread have you seen this: http://www.astrobin.com/full/13652/D/ taken by Salvatore Iovene with a 80mm refrator scope and the same view via the Hubble Space Telescope. Rather spookie

I have been looking at getting a telescope so thanks for the info..
