Samsung Smart TV d8000 or d7000

Hi all

Does anyone know if either of the 2 models above have built-in wifi or do you need to by the Samsung wirless adapter?

I am thinking of buying one and in the shop where I have been looking it says that wifi is built-in, but after downloading the manuals from Samsung website, it says in them that you need to buy the adapter.

Both have an ethernet connecter but it would be very difficult to get a cable from the router to the tv.

Any help would be appreciated if anyone has got this model.

According to the spec of the 40D8000 it's got WiFi built in http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/t...8000YUXXU-spec

Re: Samsung Smart TV d8000 or d7000

Thanks for that, it does answer my question. The D7000 is exactly the same spec but almost £200 cheaper, the only difference is the bezel around the edge of the screen, on the 8000 it is silver but on the 7000 it is almost transparent exept for a thin strip and it looks as though the picture goes to the edge of screen.

I assume I can use my sky box with this set although I don't have the sky hd package.

Re: Samsung Smart TV d8000 or d7000

If you have a Sky SD box with SCART then the TVs come with this

as they are too thin for a normal SCART socket on the TV.

If you are have a Sky+HD box but just don't have the HD sub then you can use HDMI

I believe there is one of the converters that comes with the tv, and yep, it is just the standard sky+ box.

While I was discussing which tv to buy, I asked about a dvd player/recorder and it was suggested I get the Panasonic DMR-EX83 EB-K 250GB HDD / Freeview + , the store said they were doing a special offer on it this weekend reducing it by £100. Been thinking about ditching sky, it's getting a bit expensive when you are on a pension.

Re: Samsung Smart TV d8000 or d7000

That DVD/HDD recorder only has Freeview+ (and seems to only have one tuner) so you'd lose the free HD that is built into your TV, unless you switched between the two I guess.

This LG Blu-ray/Freeview+HD combo one is the cheapest I can find thought price is all I have based the suggestion on. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-HR600-Blu...dp/B0054U4KI4/

Re: Samsung Smart TV d8000 or d7000

Yeah, I would have to switch between the 2 but that is not a big problem. The panasonic has a RF in and RF out, so while the panasonic was in standby mode the TV would use it's own built-in tuner. There is also a AV2 scart socket so that it can be connected to the sky box, so I reckon if my wife has recorde a programme and wants to save it, it can be trasfered to hd on the panasonic.
