Which handset ?

I'm just looking for a new handset any advice , I've narrowed it down to the following

Nokia Lumia 800 (Windows Phone Mango)
HTC Sensation XE (Android)
IPhone 4S (Apple) not keen on paying for handset though
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Android 4.0)
IPhone 4 (Apple)

I know some will probably find it strange a windows phone being in there however I liked the looks and the UI when demoed all help and info appreciated.

Re: Which handset ?

I would consider the Galaxy Nexus or even the Galaxy S2 which isn't on you list.

Re: Which handset ?

You will find some very good and imo unbiased info and reviews at http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/index.htm

Personally I would go for the Nexus but that's only because that is what I have upgraded my Galaxy S to and those that know me will agree I faf about and procrastinate for ages before I make my mind up..

S2 over nexus. Seems to be some problems with either the nexus or ICS at launch.

Re: Which handset ?

Avoid Apple and go for a phone running Android, as more people are buying Android phones than iPhones. I have a Samsung Galaxy Apollo (2 years old though)

SGSII or the HTC Sensation XL are the 2 best phones on the market bar none. iPhone is all hype, yea they look good but are they as flexible as an Android phone? Not in a month of Sundays. Well in my humble opinion anyway

I guess its what you need to do with your phone that counts the most & I dont think there is anything that an iPhone can do that a current Android phone cant.

Re: Which handset ?

Virgin mobile have offered me a SG2 on 24 months, at about £27 month (Im sure thats what the lady said on the phone). I will be getting @1200 mins, unlimited texts and a gig worth of internet. Can someone tell me if they think this is a good deal? Is virgin mobile any good in terms of reception etc?
I couldn't hear her too clearly when she called - I was driving at the time but she is calling me back on Friday. Should I go for this?

I am currently out of contract and looking for a new phone. I waited a while as I was waiting for he new Nexus Prime to come out but thats only got a 5mp camera which I thought was a backward step, and im not too fussed about face unlock!

Yes l have a HTC Desire and one weakness of the phone is its small internal memory and l am considering my options early next year.

Thats a really good offer. A lot more free mins/text and web that most other networks.

Yes VM has a great network as it runs over the T-Mob network and now also roams onto the Orange network as they are now Everything everywhere.

S2 is one of the best handsets out at the moment and once it gets the ICS update next year will be even better.

Re: Which handset ?

Take a look at a S2 running before getting one, not everyone likes the horrid over saturated coloured brighter than colour screens. It put me right off.

I don't agree with that at all. The Super AMOLED screen on the GS2 is one of the best around both for colours and brightness. Images look so crisp on the screen.

There is however an option in settings to change the colour tone so things aren't as colourful but I've not yet met anyone I've shown my phone to that has disliked the screen on the GS2.
