Finding Blu-Ray layer change
Hi,
Does anybody know how to find where the layer change is on a dual layer Blu-Ray disc?
I know the obvious answer...

Re: Finding Blu-Ray layer change
You do understand that it's not a change but two physical layers on the disc that are both the size of the whole disc. The laser refocuses from one semi transparent layer to the next.

Yeah - that's what I meant! So - does anybody know how to locate the end of the first layer before the laser refocuses?

I don't, but admit to curiosity why you want to find this out...

Re: Finding Blu-Ray layer change
I've been sent a Blu-Ray which has been created by some friends - a concert. They normally use single layer discs but they are testing double-layer capacity / authoring etc as they might move to them in the future, so I'm testing the playability.

Re: Finding Blu-Ray layer change
The end of the track will have (I presume they work inside out like cd/dvd) will either have a marker or the player itself will do it automatically based on the type settings it initially reads from the disc..
To be honest no idea which method it'll use.. You could always get a low powered microscope and follow the track as I doubt you;d be able to see it with the naked eye..
