DVD R Disks

Just a quick question what it is Ive recored programs of TV for instead when i go to see wwe and its on TV ill like to rec it on to a DVD. so i can watch it again and say i was there. Ive never finalize the disk. does that matter? will they still stay on the disk or am i best of finalizing them?

Finalising make the DVD able to play on most player, otherwise it might not be playerable

No - once the session is closed you can't add any more to the disc.

But a DVD-R costs pence so just create a new disc.

Most/all DVD drives play DVD+ There some that play multi format but not for DVD-.... Don't ask me why but that how it is look for yourself....when I burn a DVD I always use DVD+ as it's playable in most devices unlike DVD- The film industry uses DVD+ discs not DVD- little known fact folks.

Just a tip folks when buying your blank DVD's discs take note of the speed on the disc X8/x16 etc as thats your read & write speed if you didn't know that already.

Thats funny because I have found DVD -R's to play on pretty much everything. Also I think you will find Movie dvds you buy are pressed DVD-Rom format

Just about everything in the last 5-6 years has played both formats, it tends to be anything produced pre-2005 that are format fusy

where the best place to get the disks from? last time i got asda brand dvd r disk for under ten pounds. but you can only add 4 hours and 1 min on (don't know what the 1min for)

Loads of places, Amazon, Tesco, Maplin, Asda, eBay take your pick.

I'd never trust anything valuable to unbranded media though - and I always make a double copy just in case.

Only thing I tend to burn is films for the MIL.. So I just get the cheap disks from Wilkinson that work great.. At Â£1.65 for 10 they're cheap and cheerful.

Sainsburys often do 50/100 packs of Verbatim CDR/DVD-R/DVD+R 1/2 price which makes them similar price to Amazon or Play.

play often do Maxell buy 2 get 1 free, some ppl seem to hate Maxell but seem fine to me in PC, and DVD recorder.

I have to use DVD-R on my Panasonic DVD-Recorder and they play back fine in PCs and other makes of DVD players. I found DVD-RW didn't play properly in some other DVD players.
