Video converter for Mobile

Whats the best video converter to use to convert vids to formats for mobile?

I have a HTC Widlfire and it supposed to support WMV and MP4 yet ive only ever been able to get 1 video of each format to play correctly on it.

The Converters i have tried are..
Handbrake
Any Video Converter
Auto GK
and Super

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Video converter for Mobile

Use Handbrake and the settings on this page. Presumably you've been encoding at too high a resolution or bitrate for the phone to play it back.

Re: Video converter for Mobile

I have used handbrake, but there is a lot of faffing about setting it up.

I use Super (MP4 option) without any problems

I have the Desire S.

Re: Video converter for Mobile

I've used mediacoder (V6.4.0) to make videos that play on my Samsung Tocco lite (GT-S5230). Figuring the format was a bear and eventually I made a video on the phone, exported it to the PC and played it in media player classic and used that to determine the properties for the video and audio.

The handbook with the phone doesn't spec the video, neither does the Samsung site and a web search didn't find anybody who knew the format or encoding.

In case anybody needs to know I used these settings in Mediacoder:

Video: codec Xvid, 320x240 (can be upto 400x240) 15-25 frames/sec 200-400 Kbs (I think it can manage 800Kbs) MP4 container.

Audio: FAAC average rate mode, 24 Kbs Mpeg 4.
