Aerial Connection
Hi,
Stupid question: How do you connect coax to an outside aerial?
I want to make a 2nd feed from an aerial but I've not got access to it you to discover how the coax connects and what the termination is like.
Everything I've looked at so far just tell you how to wire a coax connector but thats not what I need!!

Re: Aerial Connection
You would not normally plan to do it that way - a single cable should come down from the aerial, indoors as soon as possible and plugged into a distribution amplifier. You then run multiple cables from there to wherever you need them.

Re: Aerial Connection
Do you want to make a connection at the dipole end up on the roof or inside the house?
A simple aerial splitter will do the job indoors, but a better job would be done by an aerial amplifier/splitter.

Ah yeah - of course - that would be much more simple!

Re: Aerial Connection
I have a 6 way amp in the attic fed by a spur from the upstairs lighting circuit.

Similar setup here. Once that's in place it's relatively easy to drop coax to each room requiring a feed. And no ladders required, which is nice.
