Welcome to CF, Step 1 - replace the batteries in the TV controller. If it still doesn't work test the remote by pointing it at a camera, whether it's a camera phone, webcam or digital camera it should show a series of white flashes from the transmitter window on the remote when you press a button. If it's working then post the details of what make of TV and is it the original TV remote?

Re: sky contoller taken over TV

Is there a switch or some buttons on your tv remote which allow you to control other devices, ie vcr, dvd, if so move switch to tv or press button marked tv. Then try again.

My remote has a small sliding switch on the side, one setting is for tv and the other is for satellite, sometimes my wife catches it and then complains she cannot change tv channels.

On the top left of the sky remote, isn't here a button that has "TV" on it, mine has, press that.

Re: sky contoller taken over TV

All wrong. to reprogramme the TV remote u leave ur batteries out for more than ten mins put it on a flat surface, point it AWAY from the tv press and hold select and red together until it flashes twice at the top or ur remote. type in 1234 then press and hold select+red again. This reprogrammes the TV controller and stops the Sky box remte override

Re: sky contoller taken over TV

The way your question was worded we all thought you meant your tv remote was not working not your your sky remote didn't operate your sky box. The answer you describe is how to reprogramme a sky remote not a tv remote.

Give the right information and you might get the right answers.
