High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
Has anyone here had any experience with the higher capacity batteries for mobiles? Do they work, What brands to get and what not to etc?
I was looking at getting this one for my HTC Wildfire...

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
Wow ... I didn't think such a thing existed any more, with standby times now being measured in days rather than hours.
I had an extended life battery for my very first 2G phone. It made the thing twice as thick and gave it, IIRC, a standby time of about 10 hours. Of course if you ever actually used the thing you would be lucky to get home at the end of the day with it still switched on.
Those were the days.

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
In my experience they do work. I got one for my Nokia and I can use it non stop and the battery will still have plenty of power left in it. although it could be just down to the old battey was wore out.

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
Taf i dont care about charge time i can charge over night.
Chris some of them do make the phone larger and u need a different back like the 3000mAh but that one there makes no mention of it. Usually if they make the phone thicker they specify its supplied with a new back to.

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
These types of batteries are not always necessary, I can charge my phone in car, or at my desk at work via the USB port.
I also bought a fold up 3-pin USB plug charger, which can be plugged in any plug socket.
If you use a phone for longer than 7 hours by a second battery.

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
I use one in my Nokia 6300 and I have seen a marked increase in the period between charges, from every other day to about every 5/6 days. Besides normal usage I also use my phone to take several photos most days and then use Bluetooth to transfer them to my PC which used to drain my battery very quickly
Although it is fractionally thicker and I have had to sand down the length by a hairs breath the back still slips on albeit a tad snugger. If you know it will fit in your phone I would certainly say give one of the High Capacity Batteries a go.

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
iv had three "long life" batteries in my last three phones, all of them made the battery last less longer, so iv stayed with the original batteries since

Re: High Capacity Batteries for Mobiles
most of the newish android smart phones are terrible on batteries, with most needing charging daily, or even more frequently, check out the android forums, there's loads of advice etc on batteries and what works and what doesn't.
