Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
My Samsung TV has a USB Port on it, which allows for the connection of PC speakers. I would like to connect up my Bose speakers as my TV lacks in bass adjustment. I want to buy a USB extension cable so that I can hot swap the speakers between the TV and my MacBook Pro, but am unsure as to which type of cable I need.
Any advice?

Re: Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
Are your Bose speakers USB or standard 3.5 headphone type jack?

Re: Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
I thought the USB ports are so you could connect USB flash drives for watching divx and listening to music?
Not for speakers?

Same as my series 7.
You would need to connect to the optical out or 3.5mm jack

Re: Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
No reason you can't get another set of speakers with a 3.5" plug on and stick it in the "headphones" socket though

Re: Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
i find that the headphones socket usually has a resistor so that the volume level doesnt go above a certain level through the output.
tried my logitech 2.1 into my LG 5010 and the sound had to be bumped up a massive amount to get the same volume as the TV speakers

Re: Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
Most TV's should have a stereo out (Red and white RCA sockets).
You could connect that to your hifi amplifier.

Re: Attach PC speakers to my Samsung TV
not these days they don't.
it'll be a digital optical output only on the majority of them now.
all three tvs in my house have the red/white/yellow input only
output is digital

I have a set of logitec speakers & sub woofer connected to a Toshiba TV via the headphone socket, the volume was very low until I went into the TV settings and increased the level of the headphone volume.
