Re: Flexible Smartphone
I can't see it catching on how they suggest it might (ie bend it to go through menus...) Nice tech though.

Re: Flexible Smartphone
I don't think it will. It's not intuitive, and where it is, it doesn't do anything you can't do with rigid touchscreens.

Re: Flexible Smartphone
Just been to the Cockcroft Rutherford Lecture by Andre Geim at Manchester Uni. He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2010 in relation to Graphene.
Fascinating stuff and one of the videos shown in respect of practical applications was this from Samsung who are developing the technology.
Maybe it could happen...

Re: Flexible Smartphone
Could certainly have potential use for screens in rigid phones alone as just how many screens have been destroyed in phones over the years when dropped or put in to tight a pocket just because there is no give in the screen?. Destroyed screen yet the rest remains fine but unuseable?. So redesign the screen technology and they will easily prolong the life of the modern phone more so in that a lot of phone screens are now 3.5 inch plus and cover near the entire front of the phones, so very prone to breaking etc.
