Using a vaccine to treat cancer.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-13088819

53 UK hospitals are participating in a trial of a new vaccine that could, if successful, help the immune system fight off pancreatic cancer.

The trial will require that some patients are given regular doses of the vaccine as well as Chemotherapy, and that some are just given Chemotherapy..

The vaccine apparently contains a part of a protein that cancerous cells overproduce, so the immune system is programmed to recognise that protein.

IF this works, it could be a great help to thousands of pancreatic cancer sufferers..

Pleased to see this..hopefully we might see an end to this particularly malignant cancer and then in the future possibly the other cancers will become a disease of the past..

Fingers crossed that it works.

I think this is great progress. I hope it works & that they find more treatments to help all cancer patients & prevent this terrible disease. We are all losing too many relations & friends because of this big C
