Question For the gurus. How to boost my mobile signal at home

I've done a bit of research on this, but interested to see what folk come up with.

Here's the problem. I live in a urbany area and use the O2 network (not sure if thats 2G or 3G) According to the o2 site, I should be getting FANTASTIC coverage. Thing is, in my street, and more specificaly inside my house its dire, Unless I stand on the bathroom window sill and stand on my hand I get between 1 and 0 bars signal.

I'd like to be able to get some sort of kit (my phone has no external antenna) so something that will make the inside of my house as good as the rest of the town i'm in (pretty good) signal wise.

BUT

I don't want to pay the Earth, some solutions I've seen have been crazy prices. I can't see O2 doing anything as its only part of the street I'm in that's affected, the rest of the town is fine.

Any ideas?

You could try this on a rear window of the property. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOBILE-PHONE-C...item3cb5702793

Or this repeater from Amazon for £79.99.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mobile-boost...8665103&sr=8-1

Apparantly boosters are illegal, passive repeaters seem to be ok, just finding one that isn't silly money.

You could always upgrade to a blackberry Torch, apparently they can use a wifi connection to boost cellular reception.

Re: For the gurus. How to boost my mobile signal at home

I was on T-mobile and my phone was on max signal.

When I lost that phone I could only get the phone I wanted with Orange and I get a signal from 0 - 3.

Even aftter signing up for the Orange T-Mobile signal share.

I also explains why my phones battery dies so quick as Its trying to find a signal all the time.
