Last summer I met 55-year-old Karen Byrne in New Jersey, who suffers from Alien Hand Syndrome.
Her left hand, and occasionally her left leg, behaves as if it was under the control of an alien intelligence.

When you cut the corpus collossum, you remove the main communication channel between the two hemispheres. Since the left hemisphere contains motor control for the right-hand side of the body and vice-versa, coordination between the two sides of the body suffers.

Not making light of the condition of course. Must be awful.
