TV Including Recorder?

Hi,

Are there any TV's around that have built in Freeview + recorder for recording programmes? I can see loads with the Freeview but not a recorder of some type.

Re: TV Including Recorder?

Have seen some with the capability to do it via a USB hard disk you plug in to the TV but cannot see one with it combined as an all in one unit. LG used to do one as did Humax but they don't seem to do them anymore.

Re: TV Including Recorder?

Thanks Paul - I think the ones with USB HDDs are for playback only - not recording.

Gap in the market then! Perhaps I should design one! :-)

Re: TV Including Recorder?

My son has one from ALDI that records and plays back from USB (he uses an ALDI USB disk which powers itself via the USB socket). It's a bit picky about the quality of USB memory though... it checks it out then reports if it's fast enough.

I velcro'ed the drive to the back of the screen, so it seems like an integrated unit now.

A lot of the lower grade makes do USB HDD televisions that allow both playback and record. I haven't seen many of the higher grade makes with them. Most of the supermarket own/concessionary brands do them, Technika (Tesco), Onn (Asda) and Emotion (Sainsbury's) etc. all do these type of television sets.

Nope saw that one when I looked and it's Unavailable As to USB being play back only, some units have a pvr function built in that can be activated for use with a USB hard drive for recording but they often lock the tv to the channel being recorded and you have to change input.

Re: TV Including Recorder?

My Panasonic TV lets me record to USB device, as well as playback divx/xvid from one.
