Using a Tecknia LCD TV 19-228 as a monitor no sound

A mate of mine is trying to use this TV as a monitor from his laptop. He is using a standard Male to Male VGA and picture is fine.

He bought the Audio leads to get sound but when connected he gets nothing. He has been into the sound part of the TV settings and has enabled digital which are the ports he is trying to use but still nothing.

I would suggest using a standard male to male 3.5mm audio cable - its the easiest way to get it working (provided his TV has a 3.5mm linein jack )

Re: Using a Tecknia LCD TV 19-228 as a monitor no sound

I assume it's the Technika TV as sold by Tesco?

If so, the specs don't mention anything about audio in - although there is mention of it not having front AV connections.
Whether this means that it does have connections but they're not at the front or it that it doesn't have any AV connections at all - I don't know as I don't have this particular model.

If it does have AV input, then there will be three RCA sockets - yellow (video), red & white (audio). I'm pretty sure the audio will require analogue input though. If your mate's laptop has a headPhone output then you should be able to use a 3.5mm jack to RCA lead.

If your mates laptop has HDMI, then you should use that instead.
