iDect phones?
Anyone got or had a phone by iDect? I was quite impressed with the styling and features and was on the point of getting one until I learned that they are made by Binatone. I've had Binatone in the past and vowed never again as they have always been (in my experience) quite cheap and nasty.
So - can anyone recommend iDect?
Or for that matter, what other brands do you like?

Re: iDect phones?
We've got a set of 4 Binatone DECT phones that we've been using for 5 or more years, theyve had a set of new batteries between them since and they're still going

Re: iDect phones?
I wish!
No, I'm looking at a pair of iDect X5is from a seller of reconditioned goods on eBay. We're on a tight budget at the moment - I wouldn't be buying at all, except we had a nasty power surge last week as a result of a very close near-miss with lightning and it fried our existing kit (Siemens Gigaset C475 - very nice, but apparently also very fragile - nothing else in the entire house blew, only this).

More than likely to have blown the base station via the line feed and not the phones themselves.. If you get another DECT base then you may be able to link them in if they are GAP compatible

Re: iDect phones?
Well, there's another story ... the kit is with the manufacturer's approved warranty repairer, which has just sent us a letter explaining it's not a warranty repair (fair dos) ... they want more than the cost of a new unit to repair it, or £9 to simply send it back unrepaired. This is annoying as I know the handset is fine, and I know how much it cost me to send it to them in the first place (less than £4 p+p, including recorded delivery).

Re: iDect phones?
I wouldnt recommend the Panasonic as my mum has had 2 and have conked out within 3-9 months.
The Best Dect phone ive ever had was a BT one it lasted me 3 and a half years until the ear piece on it just started buzzing. The phone only cost me £24.95 so it did its job.
