I would wait. I think HTC, in addition to making the screen brighter and nicer, will increase the pixel density ala the iPhone 4. Then with Android 3.0 and your looking at a dam nice phone!

I would wait until Android 3.0. From what I have read it seems Google will improve the interface and make it default across the range and introduce a minimum spec for devices. A phone running this will be more likely to be able to receive updates for the lifetime of the device.

I called them back and this time I got it! It will be with me this Saturday between 8am - 1pm.

Basically it's the same deal I have now but with the Galaxy S. I managed to talk the the girl (Katey) I spoke to into ending my remaining 5 months contract for £70 instead of £140. I also thought I'd be a bit cheeky and asked her to through in a free Bluetooth headset... and she did.

The only thing I'm unhappy about, is I couldn't budge her on giving me this deal on an 18 month contract, she could only do this for me on a 24 month one.

I'll be selling my HTC Magic soon, I wonder what they go for these days?

Rumored 3.0 will be out in Oct which means filtering to the Galaxy around December. 2.2 out in August

re: Samsung Galaxy S (i9000)

I haven't put it down since it was delivered on Saturday morning! I'm used to the Android OS because it's on my old HTC Magic, but this Galaxy is just one hell of an amazing smartphone.

I've got tons of apps for it, what apps do others find useful?

re: Samsung Galaxy S (i9000)

Ive been playing with Froyo 2.2 and the Desire 2.1 Sense on my HD2 and the 2.1 for me seems better than 2.2 anyway. This is on the feel and look of the OS not performance and its buggy on the HD2

re: Samsung Galaxy S (i9000)

Is it the official final 2.2? And did your HD2 originally have the WinMo OS on it?

re: Samsung Galaxy S (i9000)

it still does. Its a dev project over on XDA DEV . I am using it as my main OS now but there are a couple of things not working like GPS ,Bluetooth sync and the Camcorder ap

It works a bit like wubu does and it boots from SD card rather than nand but its fast and smooth
