A bit better panoramic pic, LH side is a touch over exposed due to the sun.

I have a Desire, but have just spent a couple of days playing with and setting up the ex's Galaxy.
Om reflection I think I prefer the Galaxy.

Yes, as long as you can see past the plastic back and the relative lightness of it. It doesnt have the build quality feel of the Desire or the iPhone 3GS\4 but don't let that put you off as it is actually very well built.
It works very well, all but 1 or 2 of the apps I have DL'd have worked. Media playback is second to none, huge 4" Super AMOLED screen very vibrant with deep rich colors. You can have a maximum of 48GB of storage if you opt for the 16gb one or 40gb if you get the 8gb version.
Once you have had your fussy out of it you will see the battery life last quite a long time. I have been using it as a MP3 player today approx 8hrs, made 20 mins worth of calls, about 1/2hr t'interwebbing, Satnav on the way home & I still have around 60% battery.
The KIES software works well on Win7.
Search Youtube for "V's" comparisons between the Galaxy S & either the Desire or iPhone4.
The only negative I can find is...... err there aint one. My opinion of course

Not used the default Galaxy S mediaplayer but DoubleTwist for Android is very good as an MP3 player although I narrowly prefer the HTC Sense player.

re: Samsung Galaxy S i9000 & Galaxy S2 i9100
I've been scouting about the net to try and find a good deal on the i9000, I can't upgrade until October, Vodafone said If I pay £70 (half the amount it would cost to end my existing contract with them) I can have the phone on August 8th.
My son has already ordered his from T-Mobile and is just waiting for it to be delivered... It should have been here yesterday! I think TM only have the 8gb model though.
Doh! I want it now!
Wonder when the HTC Evo will hit the UK?

My ex's one (from t-mobile) did not even come with a memory card, although it did have 5gb on board.
She used her microsd card from her nokia5800

It won't. The Evo is CDMA and we have virtually no 4G support here. Same with the Incredible.

re: Samsung Galaxy S i9000 & Galaxy S2 i9100
Thanks for the review i was thinking of getting this or the rumoured HTC DesireHD later this year.
My only concern is the 4in screen maybe a bit too big for me as i always keep it in my pocket in a case.
