As much as I'd like a galaxy it seems they are not doing them on virgin any more
In fact it seems they don't to any other phone that's decent at the moment aside from the wildfire.

Yeah, my contract's nearly up & I can't find a decent phone from them. Any half decent ones are out of stock as well...

Found this as well, if you don't want to buy Root Explorer.

Untested by me as Root Explorer did as asked.
Edit..
It works..

re: Samsung Galaxy S i9000 & Galaxy S2 i9100
Not sure if I've got this right, or if it's old news for UK users but I think the vibrant is the Galaxy S (i9000) we know here, seems Samsung have started to release a gps fix
http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/07/s...nt-gps-issues/
Hope to get my Galaxy S in about 10 days when I can upgrade

I must be one of the few who has no problems with GPS on the SGS I have used google nav & CoPilot8 without issue here in the UK and for 15 days in Spain. Althoug I did have to run GPS test on the SGS in spain to initially get it to lock on to 8 sat's the first time it was used.
