The flat pack three pin plug.

Assuming it is ever adopted, it should save a bit of space in packaging..

Re: The flat pack three pin plug.

That's the best description and pics of the plug I've seen. Yup, a great idea. I was wondering what he'd done with the fuse. Hope it's been safety tested!

Re: The flat pack three pin plug.

He could have used a different socket for the promotional pics..

Re: The flat pack three pin plug.

Should be a lot less painful if you kneel or stand on it when it's folded up as well. Ouch!.

Re: The flat pack three pin plug.

I hope he's got a good patent. I can see something like that being in demand. Although it won't help reduction of bulky packaging for most electronics that come with the ubiquitous transformer plug.

Re: The flat pack three pin plug.

I would imagine it being fairly niche, unless they can be made/sold very cheaply.

Most consumer appliances are cost-cut down to the bone, so paying extra for a fancy plug won't appeal to most manufacturers.
It's a nice piece of design, but there's not much chance of it replacing the familiar, moulded three-pin blob.
