Thanks, I took that back in 2002 with the Olympus C-3020. This Fractalius filter is really good.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner

Bit of lens advice please

Having aquired a Sony A200 with stock 18-70 lens I'm looking to get another lens. So my choices are 28-200 or 28-210 or 70-210 or 75-300. These are all Minolta lenses primarily because they use a good glass (from previous SLR experience) but more than that a good price. I know the 28-200\210 covers what I got now but adds extra length where as the 70-200\75-300 gives additional to what I already have. I'm thinking the 75-300 would be the better one. Any thoughts advice greatly apreaciated.

TIA

Al

I'd get the 75-300.

I had a similar choice with my Nikon D90, it came with a 28-105 kit lens. I bought a Nikkor 70-300 to go with it. That extra 100mm will come in very useful sooner or later.

I'd buy the Sigma 70-300. It's wider (70 against 75), better f stop at the wider end (f4 against f4.5) and has macro as well. There are some sample images here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-...pdp_images_all

I have a Sigma 50mm prime with Macro which is excellent, I also have a Sigma 10-20mm on loan which is a beautiful piece of kit.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner

Got it from Comet for £129.99 (reserve online £20 off store price of £149.00)

Quick questions DW. How quiet should the action be as when focusing? The motors sound to me to be a lot louder than the 18-70. Is this par for the course?

Great price, well done.

It's the same with the Nikkor 70-300mm, it's much louder than the other lenses. I think it's something to do with the wider focal range, meaning longer back and forward travel for the focusing elements therefore more powerful motors.

Jessops have turned into the Woolworth of camera stores, plenty of stuff but nothing you'd want to buy.

Looks good, especially at f5.6 and 400 ISO. Hand-held or tripod?.

Hand held. The RAW pic looks a lot better than the JPG.
