Re: CF: Clickers Corner
There is a free circular reflector or white balance/diffuser with this weeks Amateur Photographer, they're about seven inches closed and about twenty inches open.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
I am in the process of updating to the new 3.5 Picasa. It seems to be taking ages on the face scanning process. Will be interesting to see how it works with my photos.

Let us know how accurate it is, it's a fascinating use of computer power. There looks to be a similar thing in the new Elements 8, I'm about to install the demo version, we shall see how it goes.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
Picasa 3.5
I am quite surprised how good the new Face Recognition program is. A few blips which really showed up the facial similarities of people who are related but as soon as I corrected one error all the photos of that person were whipped away to the correct folder.
Old black and white school photos have out foxed the program and a class of 30 children were split as being John and I on a male /female basis.
One area impressed me above the others and that was the program queried a couple of pictures it had automatically placed in my Father-in-law's folder. They were of his younger brother who family reckon was almost his twin in looks and yet the program picked up the small differences. Clever.
I'm not sure yet how useful this new facility will be but it was an interesting exercise.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
Photoshop Elements 8.
It has an auto-analyze feature which I let loose on my archive of Flickr photo's. It tagged images with blurred, in focus, too dark, too light, faces, motion etc. It correctly tagged the images in a technical sense but of course couldn't be expected to account for artistic decisions I'd made at sunrise/sunset, limiting depth of field etc. So I found the auto-analyze feature to be of limited use.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner
Adobe have released a beta of Lightroom 3. It will expire next April so if you want to have a play around with it here's your chance. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom3/
