ChrisJones: Can you ask your O2 shop about the HTC Diamond Pro???
I keep getting the usual "Don't know what you're talking about" answer from O2 - at least your shop knows what the HTC Diamond is!

Re: N96 OR HTC Diamond???
If the Diamond is anything like the old HTC then the Nokia wins, hands down.

Re: N96 OR HTC Diamond???
Previously owning an XDA Mini S (HTC Wizard) has put me off ever having another HTC device again, or anything else running Windows Mobile.

Speed? Usability?

Re: N96 OR HTC Diamond???
The build quality didn't impress me, plus the speaker died making it rather useless for voice calls.
I found WM5.0 to be a PITA. Sluggish, & prone to crashing.

Re: N96 OR HTC Diamond???
Yep, WM6.1
I currently have a touch dual and it suits me fine. As for iPhone vs Diamond, in my opinion the iPhone is best for a home user or for those who want great media playback optioons, particularly music. It's touch interface is also better, as the whole phone has been built with touch from the ground up... The diamond touch interface is good, but when it dumps you back to the windows mobile screens, its a bit of a letdown.
Diamond wins hands down as a business device - push mail with exchange beats iPhone - apple have licensed active sync, but cut out lots of the extra functionality. ... as for speed/performance, the latest ROMS have fixed many of these issues, although battery life on the diamond isn't great, especially if you make use of all the functionality (only has a 900mah battery if i remember right)
horses for courses i spose...

I've had the MDA Vario 2 from new and it had to be replaced 4 times within the first year of having it. OK, the Diamond is probably far superior to its older models, but Once bitten etc. As for my Nokia N95 8GB, well, it might be a little bulky, but I am very very impressed and happy with it.
My Vario 2 will be going on ebay soon, because it's been back in its box since getting the N95.
