Re: Sony Ericsson k770i

never heard of something like that on my K800...

so might be either
1. Network related
2. something strange with the phone itself?

have you checked on google or any other fora to see if there are more people with this problem?

Re: Sony Ericsson k770i

Thanks for the input guys. I did refer to the online manual and now I wish I never bothered. lol basically any problems with the phone they recommend you do a master reset (which is fine, i knew i would loose everything and all my contacts were backed up to the memory stick which I removed, so I was happy to do a maser reset on everything with the memory stick taken out)

1 thing i didnt plan on loosing, which i thought was built into the phones firmware was the phones ability to automatically setup the phones wap and mms settings according to the sim. For example - 1st time I put my vodafone sim card in, the phone displayed "you have changed your sim - automatically setup wap and mms?" I could press yes and hey presto it was all setup. Then I tried my o2 sim card and it said the same thing. By now I was thinking "how cool, the phone is setting all this up for me" Alas now I have reset the settings, I dont even get that ability? (incidently, i think with me changing sims and having the settings update 2 or 3 times could potentially be the reason behind my delayed txts?)

I have been on the o2 site to have the settings sent to my phone, but the K770i is not listed, so that wont work the other option was visit the SE site. Great I thought, both my phone and provider are listed. - So quick question :-

On the SE site, I have selected my phone and provider then I am given 3 choices.

Select data account:
O2 Post
O2 MMS
O2 MMS

Bear in mind I am trying to setup my mms settings at this time, so I am assuming either the 2nd or 3rd option is the one?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Sony Ericsson k770i

Slyder - select K800i or K750i on the O2 site.
It will more than likely work just the same - pretty much no difference in the systems.

I've taken these from a site though:

Access point name: wap.o2.co.uk (contract customers) or payandgo.o2.co.uk (pay-as-you-go customers)
Username: o2wap (contract customers) or payandgo (pay-as-you-go customers)
Password: password
Authentication: Normal
Data bearer: GPRS
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 193.113.200.195
Session mode: Permanent
Port number: 8080 or 9201
URL address
: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

But essentially, yes - 2nd or 3rd option.
