Remote Radio Controlled Cars...
My brother is looking to buy an electric radio controlled car, now i'm not talking about the kids toy variety but the full on professional type.
Where would be a good place to look? He has a budget of around £150 - £200 and he has stated he is not interested in the petrol variety because they can be problematic. (Air locks etc.)
Anybody know anything about these?
I tried ebay and all of the electric ones on there are just toys.

Re: Remote Radio Controlled Cars...
Tamiy do some very good self assemby kits
You can either get a battery powered car, this will need loads of batteries.
Or get petrol powered (my preference), this will need running in, and may need more maintenance.
try model shops in the area and see if there are any clubs in your area.

Ok just read petrol not perfered, but don't rule it out yet.

Re: Remote Radio Controlled Cars...
Looking at getting one with a rechargable battery pack, otherwise it will cost a fourtune to run. The only shop in my area closed down a while ago so i was looking at buying online.
My brother would have to drive well over 100 miles just to get anywhere near close enough to buy from a shop and thats even if they have anything he likes.
So getting one online seems easier, problem with kits is you tend to have to paint the body yourself. Haha need i say more...
I like the petrol idea myself but he won't go for it as his next door neighbour has one and has warned him. His is always breaking down with air locks etc everytime he rolls it. and it often gets sent off for repair.

Re: Remote Radio Controlled Cars...
IMO Get a Nitro one you will only regret getting a battery one as I did.

Re: Remote Radio Controlled Cars...
I was thinking that, i recommended a nitro one to him and recommended he get advice about them from his mate as i know nothing about them!
In the demo video's you see them doing backflips and everything and they still seem to run fine unlike some petrol versions.

Re: Remote Radio Controlled Cars...
I'm currently looking into Nitro RC Cars/Trucks. I fancy a Savage X F4.6 - but I like my expensive toys hehe.
The Nitro ones are more reliable than they used to be and with a bit of reading and freely available online tutorials can be easy to maintain.
