Wind Power Failure

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsO...49522920080228

Quote:
Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) said a decline in wind energy production in west Texas occurred at the same time evening electric demand was building as colder temperatures moved into the state.

ERCOT said the grid's frequency dropped suddenly when wind production fell from more than 1,700 megawatts, before the event, to 300 MW when the emergency was declared.
Shows how this source of power is less reliable and can dissapear at times of most need.

Re: Wind Power Failure

Luckily here in the UK there's a virtually limitless source of wind power right on our doorsteps - it's called the House of Commons...

I believe they are setting up generators at the back of stadiums when Obama speaks now.

Well there had to be something of value derived from the interminable waffle these people generate.

Re: Wind Power Failure

Should make a generator that runs off of B**S*** then install it in the management offices of any large company and government buildings..

We'd then have ample power to supply the world and beyond

Given all the rain we get I can't understand why we don't produce more hydro-electricity.

Yeah? They'll probably get that up and running just as global warming turns the UK into an arid zone.
