The questions should be 'what are you going to do with it and how far away from it will you be sitting?'
If you buy a TV thats too big for your viewing distance then you will be back here soon complaining about the poor quality of your SD pictures. Do you have a HD source?

Re: new hd tv
I've had a 32" Panasonic Viera for a while now. I am extremely pleased with it. So far I can find nothing negative to say about it.

Dont be drawn in by the 1080p malarkey, its not an extra feature you should pay for. All plasmas and LCD screens are inherently progressive, so any 1080i source has to be converted to 1080p by the screen. Theres no 720i lcd monitors are there?

Also from the same as alferret's, i can vouch for this http://www.digitaldirect.co.uk/produ...oduct_id=12737
My friend bought it recently and is excellent value for money (and 200 quid cheaper than some high street stores ) Its got a great picture and gets used daily for both Xbox 360 and general tv viewing. My only moan is the generic wall bracket they send with it (the screws are too short!)

Re: new hd tv
I've got the Sammy L32R88 and I have to say from all the lcd's I've seen the latest sammy's are the best..
also if you looked at the queens' speech over xmas you would've noticed that buck house got sammy's as well.

Re: new hd tv
One thing to condsider is how many HDMI connections there are, three is probably best as V+ needs one, a DVD player could take one and you need one for some games consoles.
