Re: Will this HD TV be ok?
IMO yes it's an ok deal. LG make some good gear and if you're only using it for XBox and Sky then it will suffice.
I managed to pick up this model for £800, can't remember where from though, but the LG looks quite good for what you want it to do.

The only issue I have ever had is when playing 360 games on it. At times the screen can be quite dark and I have had to turn the brightness right up to 100 (the TV's full setting).
I use my xbox 360, PS3, Dreamcast and PC through this TV as well as a freeview box and it is so simple to switch between each one. The remote has an input button that allows you to scroll through the various options and select one from a menu.
The dreamcast picture quality is actually better when using it through this TV and it doesn't distort the picture as I have read with some other TV's of a similar price range. The TV does not offer 1080p which means that the ps3 will only operate at 1080i through it (the xbox360 only allows 1080i anyway). How much difference this makes, I'm not sure.

Re: Will this HD TV be ok?
Yeah, the contrast ratio is pretty crap - like all LCD's.
