Angry copy protection

I have a sony dvd player dav d150g and a sony dvd recorder rdr gx300 i have sky and the tv plugged in via the scart socket i have been trying to transfer none protected film collection onto dvd from dvd & vhs. When i've copied them onto a new dvd the film quality is rubbish the picture looks as though it has a shadow in it i've tried all sorts of configurations with scart and with rca but to no avail. Has anyone got any ideas from a very frustrated wire puller:

Re: copy protection

If the DVDs & videos you are copying are not protected, then it's probably simply 'cos you're going from a nice digital DVD to a crappy analogue copy made over SCART (RGB or crappy composite, although I dunno if DVD recorders can take RGB SCART?) or RCA phono (crappy composite).

Do you have a DVD burner on your PC? Why not use that & something like Nero to copy the DVDs.
