Want a 100inch LCD TV?
LG are about to start manufacturing a 100in LCD TV.. They haven't announced prices, but it costs THEM $150,000 to manufacture. So, at the moment, you can expect to pay more than that..

Re: Want a 100inch LCD TV?
I'll stick with my 100" screen and ceiling mounted lcd projector
It will do 200" but my living room isnt quite large enough

Knock down your front wall and put a screen in the street!
I think I'll stick with our standard 28" CRT TV thanks. I don't use it much anyway (it can stay turned off for weeks some times). Not worth paying any more for.

Re: Want a 100inch LCD TV?
What i dont understand is teh huge costs involved in the 100inch LG one. My brother in law just bought a 50something inch LG one for a couple of grand, what do you get for the extra 72odd K?

It isn't what you get, that costs the money, it is the manufacture of the screen. An LCD screen is effectively a huge 'silicon chip' and building the fabrication plant costs huge amounts of money.
- one the development & start up costs are defrayed, the prices can start coming down

Re: Want a 100inch LCD TV?
I would think that you would have to watch a hell of a lot of TV/DVDs to justify paying that sort of money for a tele!

It is a start up production line, I imagine many of the LCDs coming off it are no good so to get one good one you need to make 10. Also due to the sheer size there must be more risk of failiure involved, cracking LCDs etc.
